Grants Awarded

The partnership between the Plymouth Drake Foundation and Devon Community Foundation has awarded over £402,000 in Grassroots Grants across Plymouth over the past 3 years. In the past 12 months over 14,000 people in Plymouth have benefitted from a grant. Here is a list of some of the groups who have received grants..... 

 


Second Battery Kolts - To fund level 3FA coaching certificate.


Group for Arts in Swilly - To fund "Cookworthy Cultural Cook In" on fathers day on Cookworthy Green. Residents of all ages will have the opportunity to experience the prep, cookiing and taste of different ethnic foods.


Stonehouse Action - To held fund a community street party in Stonehouse. To encourage involvement with the future of the area and bring local groups together.


Efford Youth Football Club - To provide kit, footballs, nets, goals and coaching equipment. Also cover CRB checks and medical, coaching, child protection and book keeping courses.


Tuesday Club - To provide quality play work in a safe and stimulating environment which reflects the needs of the children and their parents in Plymstock area.


Key Stop Luncheon Club - To help fund crockery and kitchen equipment and a wheelchair.


Keyham Kolts Youth FC - To help subsidise the winter indoor training facilities for the younger ages 6-8 yrs and train the coaches.


Swilly Kids Club - To contribute towards the cost of holding a second youth groups. Offer a wide and varied programme of informal educational activities
Frosties Out Of School Club- Child care service to the local community and to the city wide area. Aiming to provide new skills for the children, project based, food, play, creative.


 AFC Southway Football Club - Football training whichs benefits the youth of Southway on different nights of the week. This will help towards CRB checks and coaching badges for every manager and assistant. 


3 Spirit Youth Project- Youth drop in which provides safe place for young people to hang out. Helps young people to build positive relationships with adults. 


 Efford Lunch Club - To provide equipment in the kitchen, the club enables elderly people to socialise and have a hot home made meal. 


 Onward Community Group - Junior warden scheme, the young people have requested a uniform to identify them in the community. 


 Amber initiatives - Assist in settlement of migrant workers, increase the participation into British Society. It will help fund a part time case worker.



Onward Community Group Ltd - To provide activities & Services, setting up an older persons fit club


 Marlborough Tenant & Resident Association - Holding an open day and street party for the local residents & community. 


 Plymouth Amateur Rowing Club - To purchase new equipment, particular focus on the junior members. 


 Laira United Kolts Junior Football Club - To purchase equipment and fund training courses for the club. 


Girlguiding Plymouth West - To contribute towards the cost of the trip th the international jamborette in Limburg, in the Netherlands. 


Busy Fingers Craft Club - To purchase assorted materials and equipment and fund tutor fees and buy crockery.



Wheels on Water - To provide sailing for young disabled adults in the Plymouth area.


 

The Friendly Club - To reduce isolation and loneliness for mature residents offering a range of activities and outings in the Keyham area in a friendly venue.


 Tamerton Young Leisure Group - To fund the summer activities of the youth club during the summer holidays.


Stoke Damerel Parish Centre - To replace the existing old boiler which is 22 years old, with a new one for the centre.


Simply Counselling - To provide a high quality accessible counselling service to those living in areas of deprivation in Plymouth.


 Power Pack - To provide a seaside holiday for young wheelchair users and their families: building family support.


Plymouth Deaf Childrens Society - To fund workshops for deaf children and their families on communication equipment access and family communication and interaction. 


Keyclub - To contribute towards the running costs of the club for children aged 6-11 in Keyham including purchasing new equipment, toys and games.


Fun & Freedom Club - To provide opportunities, support and social/leisure activities for young carers.


Cattewater Pilot Gig Club - To purchase a gig trailer, boat covers and additional oars for the club.


Stoke Youth & Community Centre - to renovate the exisiting WC facilities into a unisex disabled WC to comply with current legislation.


Scoot-A-Long – a Plymouth based charity for the disabled – grant awarded to purchase all-terrain mobility scooters, and contribute towards transport costs


St Budeaux Mental Health Community Group - to cover the cost of hall rental, Tai Chi and computer tuition and progressing the healthy eating project


Railway Beacon Youth Football Club - to contribute towards the running costs of the club


Stoke Damerel Parish Centre - to refurbish the male lavatories, including installing a flushing urinal system and redecoration.


Tamar Grow Local CIC - to fund the set up costs of a local community allotment site in St Budeaux, Plymouth.


Keyham Methodist Community Centre - to contribute towards the running costs of the centre and help it develop its scope and reach


About Time - which encourages those on a low budget to exchange their skills with each other through its 'time-bank' scheme. Grant awarded to purchase teaching equipment, and contribute towards the set up and running costs of an office.


Friends of Longcause - to contribute towards the cost of running sailing courses for children with additional needs.


Plymouth Baseball Club - to fund field rental, membership of the governing body and public liability insurance


Cruse Bereavement Care Plymouth - to contribute towards the running costs of the group


Plymouth Kurdish Community - to increase participation by different members of the community to get involved with each other to share what is important for the Kurdish community


St. John's Church Hall Management Committee - to manage the daily running of the hall and to improve the building and its facilities


Onward Community Group (Seven Trees Residents Association) - to purchase paint in order to decorate a recently converted chapel which will be used by community groups and young people


Onward Community Group (Seven Trees Residents Association) - to provide football coaching by Plymouth Argyle coaches for young people in the area


All Stars Theatre Group - to give adults with learning disabilities new opportunities within a safe environment, gain more skills, develop their place in society


Creative Wellbeing - to provide a secure, supportive meeting place where people can learn new skills taught by experienced professional staff supported by health staff
