Grants available

Our winter grant round closed on 20 December and we are not currently accepting applications.

The spring grant round will open on 1 February with a deadline of 30 April

There are two ways in which to apply for a grant. First of all, you can apply direct to Plymouth Drake Foundation for grants for any activity with a maritime focus. To apply,Click HERE (Word Doc) to download the grant application form. Once completed please email to plymouthdrakefoundation@gmail.com

You can also apply for grants of £500 upwards by visiting the website of Devon Community Foundation. DCF manage a number of funds on our behalf for the Plymouth area. Here you can also search for funds for the whole of Devon for which there may be eligibility. To see a list of the funds and for more information on making an application, go to www.devoncf.com/apply-for-a-grant

A summary of the funds available through DCF can also be found further down the page.

What do we fund?

All our funds are here to help local groups, organisations and charities that work to address disadvantage and deprivation across Plymouth. Grants will not be made to groups with established regular income and/or savings which could be applied to the proposal. The DCF website gives further information on conditions for those funds managed on our behalf.

How much can you apply for?

Most of our funds offer small grants between £500 - £1,500. However, there are exceptions so check the conditions of each fund. Generally it is a good rule of thumb NOT to apply for the maximum and make your project budget fit; most of our funds have very few grants given at the top end of the scale.

In the majority of applications, our communities committee will appoint two or more of of its members to make contact and visit the project, gathering any supportive information as necessary.

Funds are available for grants three times a year with the deadlines for applications being April 30th , August 31st, and December 20th each year.

Good luck
